Event Description:
Laser cutting machines provide a wide range of opportunities and possibilities for designing and fabricating goods. The versatility, speed, and precision of a laser cutter enables makers, hobbyists, and entrepreneurs to produce everything from simple machine concepts and prototypes to packaging to invitations and photo engraving.

This one-day workshop provides an overview of the technical and safety aspects of laser cutting and is designed for those with no prior experience using a laser cutter. Participants will learn: 
  • How to properly operate the laser cutter
  • How to design a digital file for laser cutting using Inkscape software
  • How to use the laser cutter to produce a custom acrylic keychain and a customized wooden box

***Participants will need to bring a laptop to participate in this workshop
