Event Description:
Business owners interested in exporting are frequently concerned about the financial risks and complications of it. This workshop simplifies the process of international finance and shows you many programs and resources available to mitigate those risks.

This workshop will help you to learn:

About the presenters: 

Michael Howard is the Managing Director for the Central Region of the the Export-Import Bank of the United States (Ex-Im Bank), a full faith and credit U.S. government agency.  Ex-Im Bank’s mission is to promote exports of U. S. goods and services through a variety of programs including an Export Credit Insurance program, a Loan and Guarantee program and a Working Capital program.  Mr. Howard holds a B.S. in Industrial Management from Georgia Institute Technology.  He has served on many advisory councils and committees on international financing for small businesses and is one of the authors of the Florida Export Finance Corporation.

Ursula Wegrzynowicz, 
President EMELEV LLC. Ursula has worked in Trade Finance for twenty years; Worked at the EXIM Bankpublic sector provider of trade finance services; Worked in the International Trade Services areas of Chase and Wells FargoPartner at a specialty broker of trade credit insurance; E Award Winning brokerage (2015) and EXIM Bank "broker of the year'' (2008 and 2012); Gained logistics experience at LR International. Ursula was appointed by US Secretary of Commerce to the Illinois District Export Council and serves on the Executive Committee in the role of Secretary. She also has served on the Illinois Advisory Committee to U.S. Global Leadership Coalition.


Alan Lane-Murcia
Vice President and SBA Program Manager at First American BankAlan has been involved in international business since 1991 and has been an SBA lender since 2000. He has been involved in every aspect of SBA lending, and oversees the bank's SBA program, including maintaining their status as a Preferred Lender under the Export Working Capital Program and the Export Express Program. Under his leadership First American Bank was awarded the SBA Illinois Export Lender of the 
year in 2015 and National Export lender of the year in 2017. Alan holds an MBA in International Economic Development from Eastern University and his Bachelor's in Economics and International Studies from Wake Forest University. He is a member of NAGGL (National Association of Government Guaranteed Lenders) and serves on its Small Bank Committee.

Steve KonkleDistrict International Trade Officer,  Economic Development Specialist/Veteran Business Development Officer at the SBA Chicago office.  Since joining the SBA, Steve has worked in the Liquidation Division, the Entrepreneurial Development division, and the Finance division.  Prior to joining the SBA in 1986, Steve held a variety of treasury management and accounting positions in the manufacturing sector. He worked in the electronic components industry and the building materials industry. His last position was as a division controller for a Fortune 500 building materials manufacturer.
